Pokimane announces Twitch return date after taking a break due to burnout

Pokimane’s back on Twitch, and you know exactly what that means. It’s the rise of the simps once again! Many would definitely be breaking No Simp September at this news.

Last month, the Twitch streamer made headlines as she announced a month-long break from her streaming endeavors citing ‘burnout’ as a primary reason.

She’s back

Pokimane will be making her official return to the platform on Sept 11, as she confirmed the news on her Twitter account.

“official return stream:

this friday 12PM PST / 3PM EST 🗓️

see you there ☺️”

Her fans and fellow content creators rejoiced at the announcement of her comeback stream, hyping up Poki in the replies:

“Omg OMG xxxx I love you will see you there!!!!”

“Can’t wait till Friday”

“LEEEEEEETS GOOOOOOOO”

“welcome back queen!!”

“Seee youuuuu”

Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys is one of the biggest names in the gaming scene. However, she took an extended break a little over a month ago because of feeling burnt out.

“Since quarantine began, it’s been hard for me to find the same joys and motivation for making content. This has led me to feeling burnt out for quite some time and because of that, I’ve been planning to take a month off.”

“I want to be happy and excited to make content for you all, and I’m looking forward to getting back into that headspace.”

Fortunately, the Twitch streamer’s hiatus announcement has been met with fan support and positive reception from the online community.

It’s especially important to prioritize one’s mental health, especially as a public figure like Pokimane who is sharing her life on the internet daily for thousands of people to see.

She has been the target of recent backlash on social media and even took the blame for YouTube creator Leafy’s controversial permanent ban on the platform, but Poki didn’t exactly state this as one of the reasons behind her decision to take a break.

But if it were to be true, it’s only understandable for Pokimane to take a hiatus as dealing with hostile comments daily could definitely affect one’s mental health.

Not totally MIA?

Despite her high-profile “burn-out break,” Pokimane has not been completely off the grid away from any social media presence. In fact, she has done a six-hour surprise broadcast on the extremely popular game Among Us amid her hiatus.

Fans were quick to ask if she’s ready to make a comeback during her surprise Twitch stream, where she merely replied:

“I don’t want to talk about it too much, but it feels like a ‘life overload’ and it’s been thumbs up so far.”

Because of her month-long extended break, she admitted to have found herself feeling excited once again about streaming on Twitch. As the days passed, Poki said she felt more relaxed and excited.

Mental break

In her official announcement post, Pokimane humbly admits that she was lucky to have a job amid the pandemic but she had to do what is the best for her current mental state.

A hardworking streamer, Poki had not taken a single month offline after graduating from high school six years ago. The month-long break, then, felt long overdue.

Anys isn’t the only A-list internet personality to take a break from their online activities. In fact, YouTube star JackSepticEye also took a recent break (July to August) from his content creation activities.
