Many fans have been wondering, how is Dafran holding up now after his Twitch exit?
Apparently, the ex-streamer is now doing well as he pursues real-life farming endeavors.
From being a professional Overwatch League player, Daniel “Dafran” Francesca took a major career shift as he left the gaming scene to pursue farming.
The Danish streamer announced his retirement from gaming back in June, explaining that he wants to start a new chapter in his life.
“It is time for a new chapter in my life.
I am going to be starting on an education, that has to do with growing fruits, vegetables and etc.
The biggest 2 reasons of why I am doing this:
- We only have 1 life to live, do what makes you happy
- I have already spent 1/3 of my life infront of the computer
I am not going to stream regularly anymore. This is not the end completely though, I will still stream for fun but rarely”
Now, he’s onto his next project of growing fruits and vegetables— which is something his audience certainly didn’t see coming.
Who is Dafran?
If you’re unfamiliar with the competitive eSports scene, Dafran was a famous player in the Overwatch league and even had a brief stint in Riot Games’ Valorant.
He started his Overwatch career playing under Selfless Gaming until July 2017, when the team decided to suspend him because of unacceptable behavior.
At the start of 2018, he joined NRG Esports as a streamer before playing for Atlanta Reign.
Dafran made his official Overwatch League appearance for the 2019 Stage 1 Playoffs before switching to become a full-time streamer instead.
Amid his blooming career in gaming and eSports, Dafran earned a bit of a rough reputation— but he remained well-known in the gaming community.
Recent update
In a recent Instagram post by a Danish farm named “Økotopen,” Dafran is featured holding a barrel of dirt.
An English-translated caption of the photo reveals that the former eSports player is about to be a future intern of the farm. It is also revealed that Dafran personally wants to make a living out of growing organic vegetables.
His perspective on his new and life-changing career path is to make life as simple as possible.
“Daniel in the picture has a big dream of growing organic vegetables and making a living from it- he has until now been known as @dafrandude professional gamer, but the vegetables and nature pull and call in him…”
“… as he said today ‘it’s just awesome to be able to go outside every day ‘- that was exactly what I said when I started out .. sometimes it’s the simplest things in the world that make us gain perspective in life.”
Dafran seems to have the energy and drive to pursue his dreams outside of gaming.
This doesn’t mean fans won’t see him back in the gaming scene, however. The ex-streamer said in his announcement tweet that he doesn’t plan to throw his love for the game away as he still considers to stream every now and then.
After spending one-third of his life “in front of the computer,” Dafran believes this kind of change is needed. A new chapter unfolds for him and his fans can’t wait for his next updates!
