Is DrDisrespect Permanently Banned on Twitch?

In a rather surprising turn of events, Guy “DrDisrespect” Beahm is allegedly banned on Twitch for good.

Since there has been no official statement yet on both parties, fans have been speculative as to what the ruthless Twitch icon may have done to deserve such a heavy consequence.

Perma-ban?

It continues to be a great mystery why Twitch decided to ban one of its biggest stars on the platform.

Just three months after DrDisrespect signed on an exclusive 2-year contract to stream with Twitch, he has been “permanently banned” on the platform for reasons (most likely in violation of the contract or company rules and regulations).

Violating platform guidelines

A day after Twitch announced it would roll out permanent bans for their talents involved in sexual harassment and assault, the two-time’s channel abruptly disappeared off the platform.

This may seem too much of a coincidence, but even the platform representatives won’t explain to him what’s truly going on.

Twitch remains unclear on the reason why they banned the star, but the two-time took it to Twitter to reassure his fans and followers about the situation:

“Champions Club,

Twitch has not notified me on the specific reason behind their decision… Firm handshakes to all for the support during this difficult time.”

This is the first time he has spoken about the matter since his channel’s disappearance on Friday.

Twitch’s statement

Neither Twitch nor DrDisrespect confirmed he’s suspended, banned, or permanently banned off the platform.

Twitch, however, provided a statement which it declined to connect with Beahm’s case.

“As is our process, we take appropriate action when we have evidence that a streamer has acted in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service. These apply to all streamers regardless of status or prominence in the community.”

It leaves room for possibility that DrDisrespect has not been banned. If anything, he might be taken off the platform for an on-going investigation or inquiry.

Esports consultant Rod “Slasher” Breslau cited various sources that it may be a permanent ban, and not one related to Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) takedown requests.

Twitch streamers have been plagued by DMCA takedown strikes, resulting in suspension or channel deletion.

This is not the first time for DrDisrespect to be banned on the platform, though.

In 2019, he was banned for two weeks after live streaming from a bathroom at the Electronic Entertainment Expo.

Other attendees were using the bathroom at the time of his broadcast.

Amid the fallout, Beahm’s wife who goes by the online alias “Mrs Assassin,” issued a statement of gratitude:

“The outpouring of love, support, strength and kindness has truly been overwhelming. You all have made my heart full and I can not thank you enough. No one better out there than the CC. You guys are amazing! Much love to you all.”

For now, only time can tell the real reason why DrDisrespect disappeared from Twitch.
