Artist Streamer Banned on Twitch for the Second Time

Pin-up artist Saruei has been handed a temporary ban on Twitch for the second time around.

The reason? One of her art was deemed by the platform as “inappropriate”.

Saruei is an illustrator who takes pride in her art focused around human anatomy, often broadcasting her drawing process live on Twitch for her fans to follow along.

It’s been the second time for the French artist to receive a suspension on the platform for her works of art – which has been labelled as “too suggestive” for the site.

On September 17, she landed her first ban after being vocal about the platform’s “hypocrisy” and “double standards” regarding female streamers and her art.

The bold criticism against Twitch didn’t go well for the artist-streamer, apparently. She’s made a name for herself for her borderline provocative art.

The illustrator and concept artist took it to Twitter to express her dismay over Twitch’s decision to ban her account.

She then stated how she’s been making an effort to censor her drawings after her previous suspension.

“I can’t believe i got banned again, it just came out of nowhere since last time i streamed was this sunday.

After getting my really first ban, i’ve been putting censoring my art even more and everywhere on my work and I tried my best to make them looks more family friendly. Why?”

Because no prior warning was given to her, Saruei feels that the temporary ban was totally unjustified on her behalf.

“I am literally crying and shaking, I just received the email an hour ago and I have not been given explanations or warnings. It’s like a huge punch in the stomach, it hurts. I always try to do my best and despite everything, I get punished…”

She also felt as though she was being punished by the platform itself, despite being cautious now more than ever to abide by the community rules and guidelines.

“I’m ready to apply any of your rules, but Twitch I beg you: I would like to know what I’ve been doing wrong so that I can remember my lesson and not start again. This is my main income, my whole life, without this work: I don’t know what I could become…”

Pleading to Twitch, she asked the platform to communicate better with art streamers like her so she can make appropriate adjustments and changes to avoid further suspensions.

The site’s community guidelines clearly states that it “restricts content that involves nudity or is sexual in nature”.

Even though Saruei has taken steps to censor her art, the provocative piece was still considered as a violation. Clearly, Twitch shows no special treatment even when it comes to honest mistakes!

Although in troubled waters at the moment, Saruei’s work seems to be admired by many as she has accumulated thousands of followers on her Twitch channel, Instagram, and Twitter pages.
