Fall Guys is finally coming to mobile, but in China

The popular game Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is coming to mobile!

But the catch is, the first confirmed mobile version is only to be made available in China… for now.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout mobile

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is finally joining the mobile hype, although it’s only exclusive for China at the moment.

Games analyst Daniel Ahmad revealed in a tweet that the Chinese entertainment company Bilibili has secured the rights to publish a mobile version of the game, but it’s only limited to China.

“Chinese games and entertainment company Bilibili has secured the rights to publish a mobile version of Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout in China.

The game released for PC and PS4 on August 4, 2020 and has become a viral hit.”

This marks the first official confirmation of a mobile version of the game being in the works.

“Not too surprising to see. But interesting that the China announcement has come first with seemingly no confirmation of a mobile version for the West.”

Bilibili says on its official website that it will be the “exclusive agent” for a genuine mobile game of the hyped title in mainland China.

Google is translating the Chinese title to “Jelly Bean: Ultimate Knockout,” with the  jelly bean likely a reference to the game’s famous bean-shaped characters.

The PC and PS4 versions of the game go by the same name in China.

Confirmed news

Co-founder of Fall Guys developer Mediatonic, Bill Croft, also confirmed the announcement in an email to The Verge:

“We can confirm Bilibili have secured publishing rights to a mobile version in China,”

“As you can imagine, we’ve had a lot of questions about platforms since launch, and of course we’d love to release on more platforms in the future but for now we’re focusing our efforts on PC and PS4.”

No global release yet?

Thanks to the game’s current fame, there have been lots of talks about a possible mobile version of Fall Guys.

However, the official Twitter handle for the game says otherwise:

“Fall Guys is only available on PC & PS4

If you see any ads for a mobile version they are scams

  1. a) They’re literally playing a video and pretending to play it
  2. b) There’s literally a mouse cursor on the screen
  3. c) I don’t want to live on this planet anymore
  4. d) Yeet me into the sun”

Fall Guys has been a huge hit, drawing more than 1.5 million players during the first 24 hours of its launch earlier this month on PC and PS4.

The Battle Royale game can support up to 60 players in a series of mini-game relay matches, where your character jumps, dives, and grabs their way to victory.

Players are eliminated through several rounds, with some earning customizations along the way.

A mobile version of Fall Guys would be perfect though, considering the premise is already made-for-mobile with only a few buttons and a joystick to control.

Unlike other BR titles on mobile, Fall Guys doesn’t have to cover an entire mobile screen with lots of virtual buttons.

Every match is also played in short sessions, with many players getting knocked out each round.

It’s great to play on-the-go! Whether you’re on your commute on the way home or waiting at a nearby cafe.

Mediatonic already confirmed they would “love to bring the game to other platforms further down the line.” This means a global mobile version of Fall Guys can still be possible soon!
