VALORANT slated for June 2 launch with brand new game mode, character, and map

Heads up, gamers! Valorant is coming.

The game has proven to be a hyped, smash hit even before its official release.

Valorant continues to be a hot topic across many online communities, being one of the most anticipated titles of 2020.

Riots’s tactical shooter FPS was originally scheduled for a summer 2020 launch, but now the game will be dropped just a few weeks on June 2nd.

Going worldwide!

Valorant will finally be available “across the majority of regions worldwide” on June 2, and the game will be free-to-download on the official website.

Fans of strategic shooter games like Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) and Overwatch will surely love the fast-paced and action-packed nature of the Riot title.

A 5v5 team-based game, one side will have to attack (plant and detonate a bomb) while the opposing team must prevent the detonation. It’s the usual game mode seen in many famed FPS games.

But, what makes Valorant unique is its interesting addition to the usual match. The game has various heroes with customizable skills which you can practice and perfect in time.

Each hero will bring various twists to the match, hence no two matches will play out the exact same way.

Esports sensation

Valorant is quite the talk-of-town for the past few months across online communities. Some even considered it an eSports sensation way before its official launch.

Well-known game streamers have already expressed their interest about transitioning over to Valorant full-time after its release. Others even aspire to join professional teams.

Since it’s free-to-play, the game will likely thrive on in-game microtransactions to acquire a variety of items.

Closed beta testing

As of writing, the game is still on its closed beta testing stage. Plenty of interested players were lucky enough to give the early version of the game try.

If you’re one of those who were unlucky in receiving drop keys, you’ll only have to do a little more waiting before you can try the hyped game out!

The game’s closed beta stage is slated to end on May 28.

Don’t worry about starting the game way behind other players, though. Developers reassured everyone that all progress during the CBT stage will be reset— so everyone starts off fresh.

Launch perks

Upon Valorant’s official launch, a new agent will debut and a new map will also be added.

A beta game mode, skins, and the first ever battle pass will also be made available to players.

Players from North America (NA), South Korea, Japan, and Europe will be the first to access the game. Other regions will shortly follow after.

To handle the expected high server traffic upon the worldwide release, Riot Games have deployed new servers in Atlanta, Dallas, Madrid, London, and Warsaw to manage the heavy load.
