DrDisrespect Won’t Return to Twitch, ‘Not Interested’ in an Exclusive Deal at the Moment

Sorry, DrDisrespect fans! It seems like the iconic Twitch streamer does not have any plans to make a comeback to the platform— ever.

A few days after his controversial Twitch ban, Guy “DrDisrespect” Beahm spoke out about what he knows regarding the ban and gave his fans an idea about his next steps.

Still unclear

DrDisrespect made it clear: he still doesn’t know the full reasoning behind his high-profile ban from Twitch.

Regardless, he confirmed he won’t be returning to the platform any time soon. This doesn’t mean he’s out for any exclusive deals by other platforms, though.

He remains uninterested in signing yet another exclusive streaming partnership at the moment.

Because of the complexities involving his sudden Twitch ban, the streamer is also considering taking legal action against the Amazon-owned platform.

In an interview with PC Gamer, he says:

“Yeah, that’s the kind of the mind blowing thing about all of this”,

“Obviously, for legal counsel, I have to be careful here. But I can say however, that I will not be returning to Twitch, so, I mean, that’s it.”

The streamer, known as one of the most recognized personalities on Twitch, agrees that it was an odd decision from the platform.

A series of bans

In recent weeks, Twitch has handed out a number of bans and suspensions towards their talents accused of abuse and sexual allegations.

When asked if he knew any similar accusations involving himself (and if it could be the reason for his ban), DrDisrespect replied:

“Listen, I’m not interested in engaging crazy speculation. I’ve seen all the theories, I’ve seen all the possible conspiracies, and it’s just like, I’m just not interested in engaging that type of stuff. I have a great community of loyal fans and I’m totally focused on getting back and delivering great, entertaining content and that’s where the focus is.”

Controversial end sequence?

A clip during the final moments of his final stream went viral across online communities.

Beahm seems to break character and turned downbeat towards the show’s end, but he clarified it was completely unrelated to his ban:

“I was in a moment where I was just sort of taking in what’s going on in the world, you know? If people had context of that clip going into it, and then coming out of it, like, all I was talking about was just the state of the world that we’re in dealing with, dealing with the protests, and the coronavirus, and everything that was happening. It’s just like, man… And at that particular moment, I think I was just kind of going through a, you know, like, when can we break this funk of 2020? It was just me being real on stream. And that’s pretty much the context of that.”

Next steps

The online personality also talked about a “Doc comeback” and a “Doc 3.0 experience.”

This may include streaming exclusively on his own Champions’ Club website, or on other platforms such as YouTube and Facebook— but he’s still “not interested in exclusive [deals] at this point.”

Fans may also see DrDisrespect’s character outside his typical streaming activites, with the Dr. Disrespect TV development deal he signed last year.

“I think you’re gonna see his universe open up a lot bigger. And that’s probably the best way I could describe it.”

Twitch is yet to issue an official announcement regarding the Doc’s high-profile ban.
