Celeb power couple Jake Paul and Tana Mongeau broke the bittersweet news to their fans as they are confirmed to be “taking a break”.
The pair also revealed how their relationship has gone downhill for the last few weeks.
Mongeau, in particular, has been very vocal about the issues she’s facing in her six-month marriage with fellow Youtube star Paul.
They got married earlier this year in a symbolic, but not legally binding ceremony. Jake Paul proposed after having been together just two months.
However, it seems like the pair is taking a further step in 2020 as they’ve announced they’re taking a break at the moment.
On separate Instagram posts, the two shared a loving photo of each other along with a heartfelt message penned below.
Mongeau writes:
“I’m happy to still be able to sit with Jake and laugh as we do this, but for right now we both are taking a break to focus on our own very crazy lives.”
“I’ll never know what the future holds and I will always love Jake and everything we did. I’m grateful to know throughout this I’ve made a best friend for life and found someone to do life with when no one understood me.”
Although they’ve decided to part ways for the mean time, Paul seems to share the exact same sentiments.
“I wouldn’t change anything that happened. We’re best friends and right now it’s best for us to focus on our lives and see what the future holds…This is bitter-sweet but it’s what’s best for us right now.”
Making light of the situation, the Youtuber even joked about how they’ve split their assets equally.
“I’m keeping custody of Thor but Tana unfortunately gets my Lamborghini…”
Not long ago, Tana Mongeau has previously admitted that she was “unhappy” with how her relationship with Paul was portrayed publicly.
She even went on to say how she had to put up a face to mask her true feelings.
Whether or not this relationship break will lead to an official separation or a renewal of love between the two Youtube stars, fans may just have to wait and see!
