Ninja, Jacksepticeye, and more to co-star in blockbuster Hollywood movie

Free Guy, a movie led by celebrity icon Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool, Green Lantern), is set to tap into the online gaming world. Big names in the gaming and streaming world are confirmed to join the cast.

Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins, Lannan ‘LazarBeam’ Eacott, and Seán ‘Jacksepticeye’ McLoughlin are confirmed to appear in the upcoming Hollywood film.

Shawn Levy, the director of the viral Netflix series Stranger things, recently announced the premise of the comedic feature:

A bank teller (Reynolds) works at a branch that’s always being robbed, before realizing that he’s a non-playable character (NPC) in the virtual world of a video game.

Reynolds and Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows) are confirmed to have leading roles in the video game aspects of the film, while Joe Kerry (Stranger Things), Jody Comer (Killing Eve), Channing Tatum (Magic Mike), and Utkarsh Ambudkar (Brittany Runs a Marathon) will play dual roles in the real world setting and as player characters.

The information was revealed during the flick’s New York Comic Con panel.

A movie about the gaming world won’t be complete without its real-life representatives. Gaming pro Ninja, along with Youtube content superstars Jacksepticeye and LazarBeam, will join the star-studded film. This also marks their debut on the silver screen.

It has also been suggested that Twitch star Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys may also be included among the cast.

The gaming stars took it to social media as they expressed their eagerness and excitement about their involvement. The trio thanked the Hollywood producers for giving them the chance to appear on the big screen, with the film set to release in 2020.

I can finally say that I will have a cameo in Ryan Reynolds’ new movie. You have no idea how excited I am!! – Jacksepticeye on Twitter

LazarBeam shared a similar sentiment in another tweet

I’m appearing in the movie ‘Free Guy’ alongside Ryan Reynolds, Jacksepticeye, and Ninja. I was doing construction five years ago lmao, so f*cking keen.

It seems like a comedic timing by the universe, as the official announcement of the 3 gamers’ involvement came just a week after Ninja took aim at fellow streamer Jack “CourageJD” Dunlop for his movie opinions.

Hollywood seems to have sided with Ninja’s views, considering he’s landed a cameo and CouRageJD is nowhere to be found— or so it seems.

Free Guy will be released by Disney and 20th Century Fox on July 3, 2020.
