Youtube’s number one content king is back!
More than a month after taking an official hiatus, Felix “PewDiePie” Kjellberg is set to return with a new video.
His last upload was on January 15. Since then, he has taken a self-imposed break to “reset” from the pressure and mental turmoil of the industry.
It’s no surprise how Pewdiepie himself admitted how he needed some time away from his home platform.
Accordingly, he has been largely out of the public eye for more than a month now.
The 103 million Bro Army has been patiently waiting for any updates about Pewds’ return. So when he finally gave a hint, he broke the internet.
In an Instagram Story upload, Pewds confirmed that a new upload will be up on his channel for the first time in 30 days very soon.
“Tomorrow, I’m back from break guys, so look forward to it for tomorrow’s upload,”
“It’s going to be a video for the first time in 30 days… see you guys tomorrow.”
Looks like the Youtube king is set and ready to return to his usual Youtube grind.
On February 21, he uploaded a 15-minute “return” video entitled “I went on a break for 30 days & THIS HAPPENED”. The Youtube video has over 4.59 million views and has landed the top spot on the platform’s trending list.
He starts the video by exclaiming:
“I have returned! I broke my 10 year streak of daily uploads to go on a one-month break…”
Pewds reacted to some of the viral memes he missed over the course of his break and also gave hints about his future pans.
“Technically I wouldn’t have to come back. I could retire if I wanted to. It was good for me to take a break, to sort of process what I’m doing, and what I want to do in the future. And there is definitely some changes I will have to do with the channel, but I’ll do them gradually.”
“I’ve been obsessing too much about YouTube, and pushing myself way too hard for too long. There is other stuff I want to do. I’m working on bigger projects as well. Although I have been missing it a lot!”
The streamer also didn’t miss out on the chance of telling his viewers how much he appreciates them, and that he’s grateful for their consistent support.
“Thank you for all the nice and lovely supportive comments while I was gone, that really cheered me up… It’s been really healthy and good for me to take this break. I appreciate everyone’s patience.”
As expected, fans didn’t waste a second to rally their excitement over the return of the King:
