Trisha Paytas Criticized for Coming Out as Transgender

Once again, Youtuber Trisha Paytas has taken the Internet community by storm.

In a recent video which she titled “I am Transgender (Female To Male)”, Paytas announced she is a “transgender gay man” but says she will continue to live as a woman since it is her “natural born gender”.

She made this announcement after wearing her hair short and dressing in casual clothing.

Trisha Paytas, 31 years old, is infamous for posting troll videos and emotional outbursts on Youtube. She also regularly posts “mukbang” videos, where she eats large quantities of junk food for her online audience.

The ex-Celebrity Big Brother star started trending (yet, again) for her controversial coming out video. She claimed she felt more masculine than feminine and identifies as a gay man because she is attracted to other gay men and loves “glam and voluptuousness.”

Paytas further added how she concluded that she is a transgender man— it was when she felt ‘so happy’ after wearing her hair short while in men trousers for a video where she dressed up as Zac Efron.

This move prompted fury from critics who believe she is merely exploiting the LGBTQ community for clickbait and views.

In the video she shared with her 4.9 million followers, she said:

I identify with men better. People always think, like, there’s something wrong with me because I don’t have, like, that many girlfriends. Like, I love girls. Like, I do love girls, and I love, like, their sensitivity and all that stuff like that. But that’s why I identify more as, like, a gay man, because I like guys, but I also identify as a guy.

She closed the 15-minute clip closes by saying that she is “1000%” transgender but still identifies with her assigned sex at birth. Paytas reassured her viewers that it’s fine to identify as whatever you want on any day.

Viewers were outraged by her controversial announcement. Some accused her of treating the LGBTQ community as a “joke”.

While this statement sparked rage among doubtful subscribers, she further added:

So I think that’s where I’m at, and I feel really free and liberated… I think it’s important that you can identify as masculine and feminine, you can identify as male and female if you choose.

Thousands of her fans were left baffled by her statement, while many criticized her on Twitter for the video.
