If you’re growing tired of the constant cheating and hacking issues plaguing Fall Guys, the good news is— its devs recently implemented the same anti-cheat system used in Fortnite to decrease the chances of using exploits.
Mediatonic’s Fall Guys did take the gaming world by storm, but the title’s global success also means the existence of hackers plaguing the game.
The cheating issues can be particularly observed on the PC version of the game.
Fortunately, the developers seem to want to solve these notorious cheating-related issues as soon as possible.
In an official tweet, the developers expressed they’re sorry about the cheating problem in the game.
Project cheater island
Though the game launched with a cheat detection, the system wasn’t particularly doing anything about it. This means players can be flagged as cheaters, but with no punishments given.
After fixing the system to avoid false flags, the devs started to build ‘Cheater Island’ — an artificial ‘region’ of servers where hackers and cheaters would be queued with each other to ensure they’d all play in the same match.
“After we confirmed that it was working – We secretly launched
Fall Guys Cheater Island™
It was a magical place where cheaters could happily compete against themselves for the Cheater’s Crown*
*Literally just a normal crown but tainted with a hollow feeling of guilt and regret”
AntiCheat or BattleEye?
Initial fan speculation says it could either point to AntiCheat or BattleEye, both of which are owned by Epic Games.
Recently, the Fall Guys Twitter account has confirmed that the game’s next patch will be called ‘Big Yeetus and Anti-Cheatus,’ which then includes implementing Epic’s Anti-Cheat system.
“Our next update is called:
BIG YEETUS AND ANTI-CHEATUS
I’ll tell you more about the Yeetus part later
But the Anti-Cheatus part…
We’re actually adding Epic’s Anti-Cheat which will be a huge step forward as we continue to improve things!”
As of the moment, Fall Guys can be played on PlayStation 4 and PC. It has sold more than 7 million copies on Steam and become the most downloaded PS Plus game of all time, cementing its status as an iconic BR title.
