Famous beauty vlogger NikkieTutorials has come out as trans in an emotional new youTube video.
Nikkie de Jager, known to the online word as NikkieTutorials, is about to face 2020 with a bold and fierce attitude.
The Dutch make-up guru shared on Youtube her viral video entitled “I’m Coming Out”, where she began by saying:
“It is 2020, and I want to start the year off with the truth.”
In the 17-minute video, she revealed to the world for the first time that she is transgender. This is the first time she spoke about it in her 11-year Youtube career history.
“When I was younger, I was born in the wrong body, which means that I am transgender… Filming this video is scary, but it feels so liberating and freeing.”
She shared her transition story started at age six before she took hormones and growth stoppers at 14. At 19, De Jager considered herself as “fully-transitioned”.
Now 25, she revealed that she was in the midst of transitioning at the time when her channel was becoming widely popular on Youtube.
However, her coming-out video wasn’t because she felt ready to share her story.
Her decision to release the video was because of blackmail from unnamed people who threatened to out her to the journos.
Fighting back to those who attempted to blackmail her into fear, she decided to come forward with her real story earlier than she would’ve liked.
“Apparently, we live in a world where people hate on people that are truly themselves.”
The video landed on the number 1 most trending video on Youtube, with 16M views and counting.
Radiating optimism and inspiration to her followers, she tweeted:
“Today is the day I am free, and I get to be me… finally.”
