Trisha Paytas Explains Why She’s “Retiring” from Youtube

After 13 years, celebrity Youtuber Trisha Paytas recently announced she’s quitting the platform full-time.

The 31-year-old made the announcement in a recent upload on Tuesday, March 3.

She has been making videos on the platform since 2007. Trisha Paytas made a name for herself on Youtube by posting various content such as mukbang sessions, comedic skits, music videos, and random IRL vlogs.

As of writing, she has garnered over 4.93 million subscribers on her channel.

The decision to quit as a full-time Youtuber is grounded on the desire to focus her time on TikTok, OnlyFans, and her podcast ‘The Dish With Trish.’

Paytas also revealed she no longer has an immense passion for Youtube like she used to.

“I’m quitting YouTube. I posted on my Patreon that I am quitting YouTube… YouTube is no longer my priority. This is the first time in my life I’ve ever said that. It’s for a multitude of reasons.”

Opening up about the future of her content, she said that she wasn’t feeling motivated by money, or by views on Youtube anymore.

“I was stressing about it… this is my lowest form of income. There was definitely no money motivation. There was definitely no views motivation.”

“I started to become more popular on TikTok and OnlyFans – two totally different things – and my podcast is really growing. I really, really, love doing all three of those things. YouTube was always my biggest passion, it motivated me… I’m just not getting really great feedback anymore on YouTube.”

This 2020 made Paytas realize one thing: it’s time for her to branch out beyond sharing content solely on the world’s leading video sharing platform.

Youtube may have been the star’s primary bread and butter, but she might shift to TikTok and other platforms as her main source of income.

However, this is not goodbye for the internet personality. She clarified that producing music and music videos will be something she’ll continue.

Paytas remains grateful to Youtube for the many opportunities it provided her:

“It’s definitely more of a hobby at this point. I love the platform, and I’m so thankful for the platform.”

But then again, she’s determined to focus on her career in adult films and showcasing explicit content on social media.

Her name has been often in the spotlight as she faced controversies. In case you missed it, Paytas came out as a transgender man in a Youtube video.

However, she intends to continue using female pronouns and her birth name in the said video.

She explains:

“I identify with men better. People always think there’s something wrong with me because I don’t have that many girlfriends but I do love girls — I love their sensitivity and all the stuff like that.”

“That’s why I identify more as a gay man because I like guys but I also identify as a guy.”

Viewers were torn as to whether Trisha was being genuine or merely jumping on the LGBT bandwagon for the clout.

She did not fall short on apologizing for the video afterwards, though. However, her stance remains: she identifies as a male.

“I feel like I should just apologise so people stop being nasty to me because this is something I’ve really struggled with”
